MSPX and Adaptec host "How Does Proper Data Storage Save You Money?"

IT professionals have the seemingly impossible task of supporting over 60% annual storage growth while reducing their total cost of doing business.  This has put an incredible strain on storage administrators and puts an equally incredible strain on IT budgets.  In fact, for every $1 spent on disk and tape storage, an additional $4 to $7 is spent over its life for management.  Approximately 70% of all storage is direct attached (per IDC) and less than 50% of that direct attached storage is utilized.  These realities cause many IT organizations to overbuy storage and then spend too much on managing that storage.  The solution to these problems is the iSCSI SAN (storage area network).  The iSCSI SAN offers the same benefits as a Fibre Channel SAN, but with simpler deployment and management at a lower cost.

These half-day seminars will show you how to ensure that your data storage infrastructure allows you the security, scalability, manageability, performance, interoperability and ease-of-use you demand while helping reduce the cost of doing business.

These seminars for IT professionals will include presentations delivered by industry experts in data storage.  Attend one of these seminars to learn how your data storage infrastructure can positively impact your balance sheet:

Recreating Comdex

November 14, 2003 - Andrea James -- Washington Business Journal -- Comdex, the ultimate annual tech trade show, this year is adding 12,500 square feet of "solutions provider space" - second only to Microsoft's floor space at the week-long event in Las Vegas.

The ASCII Group, a Bethesda-based company that represents technology resellers, chose 19 companies to fill the space, focusing on five themes: security, wireless, digital enterprise, open source and web services.

In the past, Comdex focused solely on vendors and products.

Arlington-based MSPX will present on wireless Internet in schools at the show.

"MSPX is just one of the great members of the ASCII group that builds solutions based on years of experience, and specifically in the wireless area, they are leading the way," says ASCII (www.ascii.com) business development VP Jerry Koutavas.

MSPX (www.mspx.com) and its employees are enthused.

"It is super significant," says MSPX director of marketing Amy Beth O'Brien.  "We probably have 30,000 companies in the U.S. that do what we do, so to be selected as one of four experts in the education vertical, that's really significant."

MSPX Selected for COMDEX

Press Release - Arlington, VA - - Virginia-based Managed Solutions Planning Xperts (MSPX), is gearing up for participation in COMDEX, the foremost IT marketplace in the world.  The focus of Comdex is changing from a product showcase to a customer-driven, solutions-based convention, and Solutions Providers are getting on board.  The latest and greatest in technology and innovation will remain a mainstay of the show, but a spotlight will shine on those companies who not only know the latest products, but sell them as part of total, integrated solutions.

“The technology market is evolving,” said Cameron Gohari, CEO of MSPX, Arlington, VA.  “Smart companies are changing with the market, focusing less on new and ‘sexy’ products and focusing more on solving real business issues by offering complete solutions and services that utilize the new products to increase efficiency, improve workflow, safeguard intellectual property, gain competitive advantage and improve bottom line.” Gohari added.  As a service-based solution provider, MSPX was viewed as a perfect fit for participation in an “innovation center” created and run by The ASCII Group, Bethesda, MD.

A call for applications was initiated by ASCII, and the top solutions from each of the 6 main channels: education, finance, government, health care, manufacturing, and distribution were selected.  Applications were evaluated based on the solution that was outlined in their application.  MSPX’s Wireless LAN solution powered by the Single Digits Business-Class HotSpot software and Enterasys Networks’ Business-Driven Networking framework and RoamAbout Wireless was selected as the top wireless solution.  Accolades for top selection include the unequalled exposure of two speaking engagements at COMDEX in Las Vegas and exhibiting within the second-largest space at COMDEX, second in size only to Microsoft.

MSPX makes the VAR Business 500 and the Fastest 50

June 6, 2003 - Arlington, VA --After two years of hard work and tremendous growth, Managed Solutions Planning Xperts (MSPX) was recognized as one of the top 500 Solution Providers in the US in VAR Business Magazine (www.varbusiness.com).  Finalists were selected from among over 30,000 companies and ranked according to their fiscal year 2002 revenue, calculated by factoring out non-solution-provider and non-computer-related revenue.

“This is a milestone in the history of MSPX.  Since our founding, it has been our goal to focus on the needs of our clients; delivering solutions that are tailored to meet their dynamic needs and cost-effectively adjusted to meet their budgetary constraints.  This honor is especially meaningful to us as we were not only ranked in the VAR 500, but have also placed 23rd in the list of the 50 fastest growing companies in Information Technology.” – Cameron Gohari, President.

How Successful VARs Are Growing Their Businesses

June 18, 2003 - Luc Hatlestad -- VAR Business -- (Excerpt)

“In a year when most companies were searching for the precise formula to revive their struggling economic fortunes, there wasn't one silver bullet or killer app that drove this year's fastest-growing VARs to their lofty heights. That's the bad news. Instead, the good news is, this year's most successful VARs show that there are many ways to get great growth numbers. As always, they revolve primarily around great execution and having a crystal-clear understanding of customer needs.

The key for solution providers, it seemed, was the ability to focus on the ultimate business of the customer and to capture the precise return on investment, rather than selling technology for technology's sake.

If there is a commonality for all these VARs, it's that focusing on each customer's specific needs is essential to growing a business. This is a concept that gets a lot of lip service, but if everyone did it, there would be many more successful outfits.”
